I have spent a lot of my life wishing I were not on earth. I remember sitting on my window sill in the house I grew up in the mountains of Co. Wicklow, Ireland, and staring at the night sky (no light pollution there!) and wishing I were in the sky with the stars.

Later on I wanted to be an astronaut so I could travel the galaxies. I always wanted to be ‘out there’ where I somehow knew there was no pain and suffering. I knew I belonged in a place where there was no restriction on my movement or thought (or being)

Since I was stuck here, I had to get on with it. Some of the experiences I had were very difficult and painful and I forgot for a long time about my longing to be elsewhere. I notice now, looking back, that the more I forgot about my sense of belonging elsewhere, the harder my life on earth got.

As I embraced the spiritual again and as I learn more and more, I have realized one big thing.

THE REAL YOU IS THE BEING THAT EXISTS WHETHER YOU’RE IN A BODY OR NOT!

This came home strongly to me recently when I did a reading for someone. His grandfather was visiting him in his dreams, trying to tell him something. My client only remembered his grandfather as someone who wasn’t that nice in his lifetime, who had been cruel to his wife and a drinker. I explained to him that the being who was trying to contact him now was the pure being of his grandfather, without all the faults he had in this life. Once my client knew that, he understood that the message he was supposed to get from his grandfather was positive and clear.

It made me think about how we get so exercised with ourselves and our failings, and those of others. If we were able to see and understand that every human being is, in essence, that pure being of light and music, we would be more able to forgive and release our anger and resentment. We would treat ourselves better and honour our bodies and minds as the great parts of god and the universe that they are.

It has given me a sense of peace, understanding this and I am grateful, yet again, for the learning I receive when I do readings for people.

Have you experienced anything that has given you a greater understanding of who you are?

How to Get What You Want – Christianity Vs The Law of Attraction
By Robert David Fraser

I have recently been learning a lot lately about the law of attraction. I’ve talked to a few people and as soon as I mention the law of attraction, they cut me off and tell me that they are a Born Again Christian. I was thinking about that the past few days and had a little internal struggle with that.

This morning it did finally hit me! The law of attraction and Christianity are in essence the same thing. The Christian faith is based on that, faith. The law of attraction is that you attract what you are.

If you are a faithful person, you will attract events, circumstances, and events that will cause you to be more faithful. If you are a negative person, you will attract events, circumstances, and events that will cause you to be more negative. If you are a happy person, you will attract events, circumstances, and events that will cause you to be more happy. I think by now you get the picture.

If you have faith as much as a grain of mustard seed (which is a really small seed) you can move mountains. I’m sure you recognize that verse as I am paraphrasing for the sake of time. That means if you have just a little faith, you can do anything. The law of attraction says that you attract things in your life from your vibrations or thoughts.

Having faith filled thoughts will cause you to be happier and have a higher vibration, which will bring things into your life faster. The bible also states that whatever you ask for, in faith believing, you will receive. It’s just as simple as that.

Ask for what you want, believe that you have received it, and be thankful. Now keep in mind that what you are asking for has to be something that will provide real world value and benefit mankind. Having a nice new watch on your wrist or a brand new car is hardly something of the sort. A character trait, happier marriage, discipline in finances, and things similar will provide far more benefit.

The law of attraction is basically a part of Christianity. It is simply your faith in action. If you really want to think outside the box, you can call it God’s automated answer to prayers. If you pray about something worthwhile and truly believe that you have received it, then you will get it.

This is something that will happen as fast or as slow as you believe that it can happen for you. We all struggle sometimes with our faith and it is one of the most basic, yet deep core beliefs and virtues to have. Continue working everyday to build your faith and you will find that by doing so, you will get what you want.

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Jesus of Nazareth (c. 5 BC/BCE – c. 30 AD/CE), also referred to as Jesus Christ or simply Jesus, is the central figure of Christianity. Most Christian denominations venerate him as God the Son incarnated and believe that he rose from the dead after being crucified.

The principal sources of information regarding Jesus are the four canonical gospels, and most critical scholars find them, at least the Synoptic Gospels, useful for reconstructing Jesus’ life and teachings. Some scholars believe apocryphal texts such as the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel according to the Hebrews are also relevant.

Below are some of Jesus Christ’s noted Quotes (Wisdom):

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
“Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.’ I John 4:4”
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.”
“What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.”
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
“The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Sanskrit महर्षि महेश योगी maharṣi maheśa yogī), born Mahesh Prasad Varma (January 12, 1914 – February 5, 2008) developed the Transcendental Meditation technique and was the leader or “guru” of the TM movement, a “Neo-Hindu” new religious movement. Varma’s given name was Mahesh, while Maharishi and yogi are honorifics.

He became a disciple and assistant of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, who was the Shankaracharya (spiritual leader) of Jyotirmath in the Indian Himalayas. The Maharishi credits Brahmananda Saraswati with inspiring his teachings. Beginning in 1955, the Maharishi began to introduce the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique and other related programs and initiatives to the world. His first global tour began in 1958.

Varma began to be known as “Maharishi Mahesh Yogi” around the year 1960. His devotees referred to him as “His Holiness”, and he became known as the “giggling guru”

Some books written by Maharishi below:

Science of Being and Art of Living (Paperback)

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the Bhagavad-Gita (Kindle).

Transcendental Meditation: The Essential Teachings of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Paperback).

See some of Maharishi’s noted Quotes (Wisdom) below:

“Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower, and draws all good things toward you. Allow your love to nourish yourself as well as others. Do not strain after the needs of life. It is sufficient to be quietly alert and aware of them. In this way life proceeds more naturally and effortlessly. Life is here to Enjoy!”
“When we think of failure; Failure will be ours. If we remain undecided; Nothing will ever change. All we need to do is want to achieve something great and then simply to do it. Never think of failure For what we think, will come about.”
“Life finds its purpose and fulfillment in the expansion of happiness.”

Siddhārtha Gautama (Sanskrit: सिद्धार्थ गौतम; Pali: Siddhattha Gotama) was a spiritual teacher from ancient India who founded Buddhism. In most Buddhist traditions, he is regarded as the Supreme Buddha (P. sammāsambuddha, S. samyaksaṃbuddha) of our age, “Buddha” meaning “awakened one” or “the enlightened one.”  The time of his birth and death are uncertain: most early 20th-century historians dated his lifetime as c. 563 BCE to 483 BCE, but more recent opinion dates his death to between 486 and 483 BCE or, according to some, between 411 and 400 BCE.

Gautama, also known as Śākyamuni (“Sage of the Śākyas”), is the primary figure in Buddhism, and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to him were passed down by oral tradition, and first committed to writing about 400 years later.

See some of Gautama’s noted Quotes (Wisdom) below:

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”
“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.”
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”
